One of my absolute favorite bugs is the Frenchie. When its pheasant tail time this is my go-to bug and it never fails. Though I fish these with standard nymph hooks, I've become more and more accustom to fishing these jig style.
But here's the real twist with this particular Frenchie and how I tie them. Instead of your standard pheasant tail body, I tie these using Ian Siman's camouflage thread that gives it some nice lines and is highly durable.
So the next time you are not quite sure what to put on, try a Frenchie and it could just change your luck.
