One of the more challenging—and often costly—tools required for building a bamboo fly rod is the rough beveler. This tool transforms your strips from an isosceles trapezoid into a precise 60-degree triangle, perfectly preparing them for the planing forms. While there are excellent bevelers available for purchase, at Wild Bearings we prefer to build our own jigs and machinery. For this purpose, we chose the Baginski Beveler design, and we couldn’t be happier with the consistent, reliable results it has delivered over the years.
